What is a Proxy Server
- A Proxy Server is one of our computers with a large disk storage to cache any web
page requests that you make with your web browser. We do not know who has
made the requests we just store the basic data as it comes through the system.
- The net result of the Proxy Cache is that World Wide Web access appears to be
faster as there is a good chance that the web pages you are requesting will be
coming from the Cache.
Why should I use the Proxy
- It makes viewing the web considerably faster and more reliable.
- It reduces the network load on the International circuits and keeps the price of you
Internet connection low.
