Number Changes for 0867 Service
Instructions for Titan Customers
|
- As your are all aware Telecom NZ Ltd will be charging, as from the 1st November 1999, 2 cents per
minute for home users to connect to the Internet.
- To avoid these charges Titan Internet has been forced by Telecom NZ Ltd to use their 0867 service
which involves you as our customer to change the number your computer dials to access the Internet.
- Please make these changes prior to the 1st November. Once you have made the changes and all
is working OK continue to use these numbers from now on. No other changes are needed.
- Please note that if you live outside the Auckland local calling area, ie you dial 09 before calling an
Auckland phone number, then you do NOT have to make these changes as the 2 cents charge will not
apply. Continue to uae our existing numbers.
To make these changes please follow the instructions below.
Windows 95/98
1- From the desktop double click on
"My Computer" |

- 2- Double click on
‘Dial-up Networking’.

- 3 - Using your RIGHT mouse button
click on the icon that relates to your
Titan connection.

- 4 - A dropdown menu will appear

- 5 - Click on "Properties" in this drop
down menu.

- 6- Take note of the telephone number
displayed.

- 7- Click in the white box where the
telephone niumber is displayed and
remove the existing number.

- 8- If the original number was 9148480
then type in the new number 086784000
- If the original number was 9148482 then
type in the new number 086784001

- 9- Ensure there is NO tick in the "Use
area code and Dialing Properties"

- 10- When you have finished typing in
the new number, click on "OK" at the
bottom.

- 11- If you have a dialup connection for
both Titan numbers then repeat the
above instructions for the other
connection.

- 12- When finished close all dialogue
boxes and connect to the Internet as
before.
- No other changes are needed.

Note: If you are using windows 98 and use a Titan icon or
dialin icon from your desktop then the number change may
not show up when you click on the icon. ie the old number
is still there. If this happens then delete the icon (RIGHT
click then delete) and recreate another shortcut fron dialup
networking using the changed settings. |
Macintosh Customers.
- iMac/G3
- Open the Apple Menu, then Control Panels, then click Remote Access. Under
- this menu, you should see a field labeled Phone Number.
- Take note of the telephone number displayed.
- If the original number was 9148480 then type in the new number 086784000
- If the original number was 9148482 then type in the new number 086784001

- FreePPP 2.5x
- Open FreePPP setup (you can do this by clicking on the telephone up the top
- right hand corner of your screen), then click Accounts. This should bring up the
- screen that displays your list of connections. Select the connection you use with
- Titan, and click edit. You should now have in front of you a field labeled Phone
- Number.
- Take note of the telephone number displayed.
- If the original number was 9148480 then type in the new number 086784000
- If the original number was 9148482 then type in the new number 086784001

- FreePPP 2.6x
- Open FreePPP setup (you can do this by clicking on the telephone up the top
- right hand corner of your screen), then click Accounts. This should bring up the
- screen that displays your list of connections. Select the connection you use with
- Titan, and click edit. Next you will see a Tab labeled Dialup, Click this. You
- should now have in front of you a field labeled Phone Number.
- Take note of the telephone number displayed.
- If the original number was 9148480 then type in the new number 086784000
- If the original number was 9148482 then type in the new number 086784001

- ConfigPPP
- Open ConfigPPP. Click on Config. This will display a screen with Phone
- number as one of your options.
- Take note of the telephone number displayed.
- If the original number was 9148480 then type in the new number 086784000
- If the original number was 9148482 then type in the new number 086784001
