AWeb Sound Viewers
In order to play sound files incorporated into web pages with AWeb you must configure "Viewers" in the AWeb browser settings. As supplied there are five options, but only one has been pre-configured:
For MIDI, MOD, MP3, and WAV files you can use "SimplePlay' from James Carroll, although it does have a few limitations at present, in that each file activated spawns a new version of SimplePlay and you can easily end up with multiple music files playing over the top of one another, but with care, it does the job. SimplePlay can be downloaded from OS4Depot, and can be installed where you wish. Unless you have already installed some of the newer MUI libraries, as soon as you attempt to run SimplePlay it will request that you install or update them. They too can be downloaded from the libraries are of OS4Depot. If you intend you utilise the MIDI capability, you will also have to download Timidity (14MB), and install it as per the instructions in the 'readme.txt' file supplied with SimplePlay. For MIDI, WAV and MOD you can update the existing entries, while for MP3 you will need to Add a new entry. Set the action to E, the Name should point to SimplePlay, and the only Argument required is %f. While you should be able to use the Viewers immediately, we have found it necessary to quit AWeb and restart it before the new viewers will work.
