Activating Sound
The sound on the AmigaOne is managed by AHI which can be found in the "Prefs" drawer, and must be executed before
any sound will be heard. You have several ways to do this:
- Open the Prefs drawer and double click on the AHI icon. This will start the program and the AHI Preferences will be
displayed. You can configure the setup and Save the preferences or simply Use the existing preferences.
This will close the AHI preferences window.
- Add AHI to the AmiDock panel and click on this every time you boot your computer to execute it as above.
- Edit the User-Startup file in the S: directory to add the following lines -
;BEGIN AHI
If exists Sys:Prefs/AHI
AHI USE
EndIf
;END AHI
You will then need to click on the AHI icon in the Prefs drawer and then select 'Information' from the Icons menu. Then
click on the 'Icon' tab and add "DONOTWAIT" at the end of the existing 'Tooltypes' entries, and then Save the
changes. When you re-boot AmigaOS 4.0, AHI will execute during startup using the saved preferences and the DONOTWAIT
Tooltype tells the system not to wait for it to complete.
(You do not want it to complete, but keep running until the machine is powered off or reset.)
