AmigaOS 4.0 - About OS4 - Commands

XADLIST Workbench
Purpose: To examine files and print the names of the archivers.
Format: XADLIST [{<file> | <directory>}] [ALL] [NE | NOEXTERN]
Template: FILE/M, ALL/S, NE=NOEXTERN/S
Path: C:XADLIST
XADLIST enables you to examine archive files and print the names of the archivers.

FILE specifies the file/drawer that should be examined. Wildcards of any kind are supported. You can specify multiple filenames or directories. If FILE is not specified, the current directory will be examined.

If you specify a directory, the directory is entered and the contents are shown also without the ALL option. If you use wildcards in the name the directory is listed normally, but you may add /#? to show its contents.

XADLIST only examines one directory level. With the ALL option, it goes as deep as possible.

The NE or NOEXTERN option prohibits the use of external clients for recognition purposes.

Example 1:

3.OS4:> XADLIST DH0:C/#? DH0:Libs/ examines the contents of DH0:C and DH0:Libs.

Example 2:

3.OS4:> XADLIST DF0:#?/#?.#? ALL examines any drawer deeper than level one on DF0: for filenames ending with an extension.
