AmigaOS 4.0 - About OS4 - Commands

SERIAL Obsolete
Purpose: To set the preferences for communication through the serial port.
Format: SERIAL [FROM <filename>] [EDIT | USE | SAVE] [PUBSCREEN <public screen name>] [UNIT]
Template: FROM, EDIT/S, USE/S, SAVE/S, PUBSCREEN/K, UNIT/S
Path: SYS:Prefs/Serial

This command became obsolete with AmigaOS 4.0 - details shown for information only

The assumption is that serial devices are only going to be used for the Internet, so you need to use the Internet configuration tools to perform the functions previously provided by the SERIAL Preferences editor. They can be found here.

Default serial specifications are set at 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and Hardware flow control while the line speed can be set from UBoot using the baudrate environment variable but defaults to the minimum value which is 9600baud.
