RAWBInfo is a replacement icon information handler that uses ReAction for the user interface.

Running ASYNCWB by itself will start the process, so it is normally found in WBStartup and therefore runs automatically at startup. Subsequent requests without no arguments will shut the program down.

The AUTOGETSIZE argument tells RAWBInfo to automatically start calculating the drawer size.

The AUTOGETVERSION argument tells RAWBInfo to automatically get the version number of a file/program.

The AUTOCLOSE argument tells RAWBInfo to automatically close a "disk" window when removing the disk from the drive.

The SHORTDATETIME argument tells RAWBInfo to use the short date and time format of the current locale. Enabling it makes the icon information windows a bit smaller.

The SCALELAYOUTX argument is used in conjunction with SCALELAYOUTY and is used to increase the initial size of any "non-disk" window. Defaults to 0 percent (i.e. no change).

The SCALELAYOUTY argument is used in conjunction with SCALELAYOUTX and is used to increase the initial size of any "non-disk" window. Defaults to 0 percent (i.e. no change).

The WINPOS <pos> argument is used to specify where the window should be opened. <pos> can be TOPLEFT for the left corner right under the titlebar (default), CENTER to center the window on the screen, or MOUSE to open it relative to the mouse pointer.

The SIZEBBOTTOM argument makes the bottom border of information windows as high as the sizing gadget.

When an icon was originally saved in NewIcons format, setting the DROPNEWICONSDATA argument prevents icon.library from saving the information back to the .info file.

The DROPPLANARDATA argument prevents icon.library from storing any pre OS3.5 image data.

The DESTWIDTH argument is used in conjunction with DESTHEIGHT and sets the maximum width of an icon when creating a new icon image from a picture object (eg. via IconImages/Extras/Pic2Icon).

The DESTHEIGHT argument is used in conjunction with DESTWIDTH and sets the maximum height of an icon when creating a new icon image from a picture object (eg. via IconImages/Extras/Pic2Icon).

For objects that don't have an icon, RAWBInfo automatically saves one to disk. If you don't want this to happen you must specify the CREATEICON NEVER argument, or if you want to choose when this should happen you must specify the CREATEICON ASK argument. The default is CREATEICON ALWAYS.

The ICONEDIT <pathed filename> argument specifies the path to the IconEdit program; defaults to Sys:Tools/IconEdit.

The MULTIVIEW <pathed filename> argument specifies the path to the MultiView program; defaults to Sys:Utilities/Multiview.

The LOADPATH <load path> argument specifies the initial path of the "Icon Image/Load ..." filerequester (see later).

The SAVEPATH <save path> argument specifies the initial path of the "Icon Image/Save ..." filerequester (see later).

The TOOLS {<tool>} argument specifies a list of default tools that are available when you click on the dropdown chooser (that's the button on the right side of the default tool string gadget). Example: TOOLS "MultiView" "Installer" "IconX"

The ICONFIRST argument specifies ...

The IMAGE2ICON <name> argument specifies ...

The IMAGE2ICONOPTS <name> argument specifies ...

The APPICON argument specifies ...

The APPICONX <value> argument specifies ...

The APPICONY <value> argument specifies ...

The NOSHOWPOS argument specifies ...

The NOWORDWRAP argument specifies ...

When RAWBInfo is NOT running, icon information windows appear as follows:

It also has a tendency to crash when being updated. However, when RAWBInfo is running, icon information windows appear as follows:

In addition to the normal icon information facilities, RAWBInfo provide the following:
  • dropping an icon on the window will open another icon information window with information on the dropped icon.
  • if you drop an icon on the tooltypes gadget, the program will replace the current tooltypes with the one the dropped icon has.
  • the default tool of a project can also be changed by drag and drop.
  • double-clicking the icon will open the workbench object.
