AmigaOS 4.0 - About OS4 - Commands

Purpose: To display the Non-Volatile UBoot environment variables.
Format: NVGETVAR [<variable name>]
Template: NAME
Path: C:nvgetvar
NVGETVAR enables you to display the environment variables and their respective values that are stored in the non-volatile RAM used by UBoot.

NVGETVAR with no arguments will display all of the UBoot environment variables. If the <variable name> argument is specified, it must match the name of one of the UBoot environment variables and its value will be displayed. If the reqested variable does not exist, NVGETVAR will print nothing, and set the condition flag to 5 (WARN).

However, there is no such thing as a complete list of UBoot environment variables because they can be created dynamically by any individual, but you will find a list of the standard ones here.

Example 1:

3.OS4:> NVGETVAR stdout
displays the current value of the stdout environment variable used by UBoot.

Example 2:

3.OS4:> NVGETVAR >RAM:varlist displays the values of all UBoot environment variables to a file called varlist in RAM:.
