AmigaOS 4.0 - About OS4 - Commands

INFO AmigaDOS
Purpose: Give information about the file system(s).
Format: INFO [<device>] [DEVICES] [VOLUMES] [SHOW=<BLOCKS | BYTES | SIZE>] [SORT=<NAME | FREE | USED | SIZE | VOLUME>]
Template: DEVICE, DEVICES/S, VOLUMES/S, SHOW/K, SORT/K
Path: C:INFO
INFO displays a line of information about each disk or partition. This includes the maximum size of the disk, the used and free space, the number of soft disk errors that have occurred, and the status of the disk.

By default INFO displays information foir all devices and volumes. With the <device> argument, INFO provides information on just one device or volume.

When the DEVICES argument is specified, INFO displays onlys device information, no volume information.

When the VOLUMES argument is specified, INFO displays onlys volume information, no device information.

When the SHOW argument is specified, the associated option specifies the format in which the Free/Full column data should be printed, and must be one of the following options:

BLOCKS displays the number blocks available for use and already allocated (default).
BYTES displays the number bytes available for use and already allocated.Note that due to how the file system allocates storage space, this may not be an accurate figure. Typically, a file needs more storage space on disk than just the data stored in it.
SIZE displays an approximate rough figure in the KByte/MByte/GByte range, similar to the "Size" column.

When the SORT argument is specified, the associated option specifies the criterion by which the device list should be sorted, and must be one of the following options:

NAME sorts by device name (default).
FREE sorts by free space. Note that because block sizes may vary, for FREE, USED and SIZE the number of bytes is used, not the number of blocks.
USED sorts by allocated space.
SIZE sorts by total size.
VOLUME sorts by volume name.
