The Input Preferences editor enables you to specify speeds for the mouse and keyboard, and selects the keyboard map. When
Input is invoked it will display the following window:
Input Preferences
Mouse Speed has a slider which specifies how fast the cursor should move in relation to the mouse. Options are 1:4, 1:3, 1:2, 2:3, 1:1, 3:2, 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1. The default is 1:1. Menu Button has two buttons to specify which button on the mouse should be used for menu selection. The first button sets the left button as the menu button for left-handed users, while the second button sets the right button as the menu button for right-handed users. Accelerated when ticked, accelerates the speed at which the mouse moves while it keeps moving. Double-Click Delay specifies the maximum delay in seconds between two mouse click that is interpreted as as double-click. The range is from 0.02s to 4.00s. The default is 1.50s. Just below and to the right is a button labelled "< Test Double-Click". You can use this to test the delay setting, while the box on the left will show the result of your double-click tests, with messages such as "Click again", "Too slow" and "Double-clicked". Keyboard The main window lists the contents of Devs:Keymaps on your system. Select either the Keymap that matches your keyboard or the keymap for the keyboard layout that you wish to use.
Keyboard Test can be used to test the keymap above and the settings below. Simply type in the box provided. Key Repeat Delay: specifies the delay in seconds before a pressed and held key begins to repeat. The range is from 0.02s to 1.50s. Default is 0.60s. Key Repeat Rate: specifies the speed in seconds the speed of a repeating pressed and held key. The range is from 0.24s to 0.00s, where 0.00s is interpreted as no repeat. Default is 0.05s. Amiga Keyboard - a classic Amiga keyboard has two A(miga) keys to the left and right of the space bar. When ticked, this option changes the list of available keymaps and modifies the keymap.
