Linux 2.4.26 Kernel using the onboard VIA686B IDE controller with DMA turned off

With Linux Kernel 2.4.26 using the VIA686B IDE controller with DMA turned off (using 'ide=nodma' on the bootargs parameter), the following initialisation processes occur before before the user can log in:
