Following the release of the Original Chip Set (OCS) it was nearly 3 years before Commodore released another new chipset
known as the Enhanced Chip Set or ECS, that enabled up to 2Mb of Chip Ram to be used. For graphics and multimedia applications
this was a major step forward. The Enhanced Chip Set was the third set of custom chips used in the Amiga, and this section
attempts to chronical the development and history of the Amiga during the time that Enhanced Chip Set was being used. Some of
the earlier machines were also able to take advantage of some of the facilties of the new chipset, but obviously not
everything.
