The CBM 8032 released in 1981 added an 80-column capability to the PET range giving it the ability to run serious business
software. Looking not unlike the original PET and SuperPET machines, the 8000 series was re-skinned in plastic to bring its
appearance up to date. In this guise, it also had the potential to handle a 22 megabyte disk store, and still managed to hold
its own against the emerging 8088 processor based machines from IBM and ACT.
